Lionel Messi’s status as the number-one footballer in the world has come under question once again after his failure to get Argentina to a major international title in almost 25 years.

Argentina are going through the best period in their history especially when it comes to attacking players. Not only do they have the best player in the form of Messi, but there are also other top attackers like Sergio Aguero, Angel di Maria, and Gonzalo Higuain. Many teams would have a mouthwatering attack with such a line-up, but Argentina have not been able to score goals consistently with such players.

It proved to be a hindrance for the team in the World Cup 2014 and it hit them hard once again during the Copa America 2015. Argentina were keen to forget the memories of the loss to Germany in the final of the World Cup 12 months ago. A win against home team Chile could have been the perfect remedy for that memory, but more pain has been brought upon the national team after they lost two penalties against Chile.
