Busquets: Premier League Cant Lure Lionel Messi

Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets feels strongly that his teammate Lionel Messi will not be lured into moving to England to feature in the Premier League. The Spaniard opines that the Argentine star is well cared for by the Catalan club in all angles so there is nothing that would make him exit.

Messi’s at home here in Barcelona. Financially, he’s well looked after. He’s winning trophies, collectively and individually, living in a great city, surrounded by great players and part of a great project,” Busquets said. He added that the air around Messi is “positive” and that it would be difficult to match that anywhere else. He alluded that the player’s upbringing makes it difficult to change.

There have been rumours in that past that Messi could reunite with former coach Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Despite remaining a key figure at the Camp Nou, the rumours never end. The player recently extended his deal with Barcelona after months of protraction. Busquets admits that the Premier League is temping and that they would like to play there. However if they were to weigh the positives and negatives, then it would be “hard to leave Barca.”

Even Manchester City have given up on the idea of signing the star. An executive director at Etihad Ferran Soriano was quoted to have said: “there is no possibility of signing him.” He said the club would make do without him despite regarding him as the “best player in the history of football.” Messi, who recently had his third child, will find it hard to leave Barcelona ever, even in retirement. Despite passing his peak, Messi seems like one that can still go three to five years.
