Messi has a higher goal/attempt ratio (conversion rate) and a higher goal/game ratio+In all comps has 24 Assists vs CR’s 12..They have scored the same no. free-kicks this season but CR has taken way more attempts (like his long-shots, which Messi doesn’t attempt) What Messi does do that CR can’t attempt shows far more ability..I see many long-shots/free-kicks scored by all sorts players..not many majestic dribbles leading to team/individual chances though
Goal vs villareal was made by Ozil, the goal vs Ajax was made by the TEAM not just CR. The action of Messi dribbling past players is all himself, not the TEAM (and if u watch Barca u’ll see he rarely tries to turn this into a goal,more into a pass leading to an assist, and even if it doesn’t lead to either, it still shows far more technical skill than the rare successful long shot/free-kick by CR, also considering that CR can rarely dribble past players+can’t make a deadly pass like messi can)
actually, there is an build-up-goal.. check villareal vs rma… andd against ajax? i think its one of the sickest counter’s ever.. there are enough stats that shows that cr7 is more goalproductive and they have the same amount of assists. I agree that, so far, Messi hasn’t been able to spread his enthusiasm to other players in the Argentina futbol team. But, since Messi started playing for Argentina, our team has had top strikers, so so midfielders, and terrible defenders… and appalling coaches. Seeing Messi play in Argentina is like watching the first years of Jordan in the Bulls… the man had to do everything! He only was able to become a champion when he turned his teammates into champions…
I understand, but remember that even Zizou is just 6 years back. You may not believe this, but there are better players than this duo, but the limelight is not on them. Gerard with an above average play is more of a legend than M ‘cos of his leadership ability. Argentina of 2010 possessed about the deadliest strike force; Coached by a legend and captained by a Genius. But the impact? Please see beyond the media. He’s a GREAT player – the BEST dribbler now (though with fewer skills).
Messi is NOT a write off. IT would AMAZE you what feeling of respect I have for that Genius. Any game Barcelona plays, I expect a goal from him, up till now, that expectation has been fulfilled 90%. Napoli and Argentina ’86 were not good teams. France 2006 managed to qualify. This Argentina has GREAT players, virtually all their strikers and MF are world class (prove me wrong). Messi needs to learn the Leadership ability. CRonaldo with a weak Portugal has made a better impression.

Agree. I wish people can understand this and simply enjoy the game. For me, Messi, CRonaldo are both Great players.
