Tevez Rejects Rift Rumors With Messi

Juventus striker Carlos Tevez has rejected suggestions that he has a rift with Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi and this has prevented him from being selected for the national team. Tevez has not been selected for the Argentine national team since 2011. He is looking likely to miss out on the World Cup 2014 as well, but it has been widely rumoured that the selection process is not down to the football results. Juventus manager Giuseppe Marotta recently said that he is baffled by the decision not to select a player like Tevez for the national team due to non-footballing reasons.

The 30-year-old has been one of the finest strikers in the last few years. Even after moving to Italian football in a £ 10 million deal, he continues to be an important player for his club. Tevez is on course to helping Juventus win the third successive league title. However, it is rumoured that he has fallen out with Messi and this has been the reason for Sabella to leave out the striker. Tevez has stated that he has surely some wonderful moments with Messi in the past and has lavished praise on the character of the 26-year-old.

He says that the rumours about a fallout are not true.

“I don’t know where they got such nonsense from. Everyone publishes it, but the truth is that we get on well. We have shared moments together, training sessions, matches and there has never been a problem. He is a charming and very polite person. This should be his World Cup and I hope that is the case with all my heart because he is a marvellous player. He and Cristiano [Ronaldo], with whom I played at Manchester United, are the best players in the world,” said Tevez.

He is the second-highest scorer in the Italian league with 18 league goals.
