NEYMAR GRATEFUL TO MESSI FOR RESCUING BARCELONA CAREER

Barcelona’s star forward Neymar has come on out, to express his gratefulness to his colleague and football star, Lionel Messi for looking out for him when he first joined the Catalonian giants and didn’t know his way around things then.

Neymar joined up with Barcelona in 2013, after moving from his former club, Santos. However, his transition into the team at the early period wasn’t quite smooth as he faced some early challenges. It was Messi, according to Neymar, that took him under his wings, brushing him up and making him into the key figure he is today.

Speaking recently to CNN, Neymar had said,

“I have a nice story about Messi. Soon after I arrived, it was not a great moment in my career and he was the one who helped me.

“He saw that I was sad, with my head down, that things were not going right for me. He told me to keep going, to be happy and to play the way I know. He told me this and he helped me a lot at that moment in time. He is a person who I admire a lot.” Continue reading NEYMAR GRATEFUL TO MESSI FOR RESCUING BARCELONA CAREER

Lionel Messi will travel to Argentina despite trial

Lionel Messi will travel with Argentina for their training camp despite having to testify at his trial in Spain.

Lionel Messi is currently involved in a Spanish tax fraud trial and is set to appear before the court in the days to come.

He is supposed to appear before the judge on the 2nd of June but by this time Argentina will be in a training camp. Indeed, a few days later, the Argentina team will be taking part in their first game of the Copa America, and it will be important for Messi to take part in this camp.

It appears that Messi will have to fly back to Spain from the training camp to attend the trial and then return to the Argentina training camp.

Gerardo Martino has already confirmed that Messi will be joining the training camp in Argentina just a few days after playing in the Copa del Rey final with Barcelona. The coach stated that Messi will be joining the camp and then fly back to Spain to take part in the trial. The likely outcomes of the trial might be hefty fines for the Barcelona and Argentina player.

Once back to Argentina after the trial, Messi will again have to travel a long distance to Santa Clara where Argentina will be playing their first game against Chile. LEO MESSI DENIES TAX EVASION IN PANAMA SCANDAL

Leo Messi, World Footballer of the year, has come out to deny being involved in the Panama scandal. His whole family denied the allegations on Tuesday that he was involved in the Panama tax evasion scandal after the forward was named as one of the key figures accused of shady offshore dealings in the Panama Papers Scandal.

The family said via a statement: “The Messi family wants to make clear that Lionel Messi has not carried out any of the acts attributed to him, and accusations he created a tax evasion plot, including a network of money laundering, are false and insulting. The Panama Company to which they refer to is a totally inactive company that never had any funds or any open current accounts.”

The Panama papers scandal broke out on Monday when a collation of media groups released a year-long worldwide investigation into documents leaked from a Panama-based law firm. The scandal named several key individuals and society elites involved in shady offshore financial dealings.

Others accused include close allies of Vladmir Putin – the Russian president, Iceland’s Prime Minister Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson, family members of Chinese president Xi Jinping. Continue reading LEO MESSI DENIES TAX EVASION IN PANAMA SCANDAL

Lionel Messihas not sustained a serious injury

Barcelona fans suffered an initial scare after seeing Lionel Messi being replaced in the 2nd half of his clubs’ match against Athletic Club as both clubs faced off on January 17 and Barcelona came out on top with a final scoreboard of 6-0 as the team of Luis Enrique claimed an overwhelmingly convincing triumph.

Even though Barcelona dominated this match with a convincing victory, there was something else which was on the mind of the supporters of the Spanish club and it was regarding Messi who was not able to play in the entirety of the game.

When the match reached it’s end, people began to speculate and wonder about the condition of the Argentine attacker.

The medical staff of Barcelona has now assured everyone that Messi only suffered a slight knock and that it’s not something serious.

Barcelona released an official statement on their social media platforms which read: “It turns out that the Argentinian has not got a hamstring injury and has just taken a bit of a knock. It is uncertain whether or not he will be available for future matches, but there is nothing major to worry about.”

Before the 2nd half of Barcelona’s match against Athletic Club had kicked off, Lionel Messi took a longer period of time on the dressing room as he began to feel a small pain in his right leg and Luis Enrique opted to not take any risks as he substituted Messi immediately after. Lionel Messi’s status as the number-one footballer in the world has come under question

Lionel Messi’s status as the number-one footballer in the world has come under question once again after his failure to get Argentina to a major international title in almost 25 years.

Argentina are going through the best period in their history especially when it comes to attacking players. Not only do they have the best player in the form of Messi, but there are also other top attackers like Sergio Aguero, Angel di Maria, and Gonzalo Higuain. Many teams would have a mouthwatering attack with such a line-up, but Argentina have not been able to score goals consistently with such players.

It proved to be a hindrance for the team in the World Cup 2014 and it hit them hard once again during the Copa America 2015. Argentina were keen to forget the memories of the loss to Germany in the final of the World Cup 12 months ago. A win against home team Chile could have been the perfect remedy for that memory, but more pain has been brought upon the national team after they lost two penalties against Chile. As a result, the wait for a major international title goes on. Messi managed to score only one goal throughout the tournament, but his Barcelona teammate Neymar has defended him.
