MESSI RANKED FOURTH ON TROPHY LIST

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is widely regarded by many as one of the best footballers to ever grace the round leather game and he’s also one of the most decorated players in the history of the Sport despite the fact that he has not won a trophy for over a year. Lionel Messi won his last trophy in the summer of 2019 when Barcelona won the Spanish La Liga title under the guidance of former manager Ernesto Valverde. Lionel Messi has won 36 trophies during his career and he’s the joint fourth on the list of the players with the most trophies. Lionel Messi is on the same number of trophies as Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs. Giggs is now the Welsh national team manager and he won all the trophies while he was at Manchester United.

Lionel Messi is not too far from the top three players on the list. His former Barcelona teammate Andres Iniesta is joint second on the list alongside former Inter Milan and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) left-back Maxwell. Andres Iniesta and Maxwell are on 37 trophies each. Brazilian international Daniel Alves is the undisputed king of trophies after winning 42 trophies. Messi on Target

Argentinean Lionel Messi scored his first goal for Barcelona post the controversy surrounding his transfer out from the club. Messi who has expressed his desire to leave the Spanish club was on target from the spot-kick as Barcelona defeated Villareal 4-0 in La Liga. Messi who has been in the news lately because of his run-in with the club’s management also had a hand in another goal as his cross saw Paul Touros score an own goal.

Messi had recently admitted that he was staying back at Camp Nou much against his own wishes. However, his weekend display belied any rumors about him not giving his hundred percent on the field for the club side. He looked in fine form and carried the team well. BARCA TO KEEP DEMBELE

Barcelona will keep winger Ousmane Dembele. The club has accepted that they will have to hold on to the player beyond this summer, as no club has shown real interest in the player. The Catalan giants are ready to part ways with the former Borussia Dortmund winger, but no club is ready to meet the asking price.

La Blaugrana signed Dembele from Dortmund in 2017 for €105 million. The club has been forced to endure a number of injury-hit seasons. This year, Dembele has managed just nine appearances before going down with what was expected to be a season ending hamstring injury.

TODIBO REVEALS BARCA’S TRAINING MODUS

Jean-Clair Todibo says Lionel Messi is usually treated like an egg whenever the rest of the team are on the training ground. Everyone is expected not to tackle him hardcore. This is to ensure that the diminutive Argentine do not get injured.

His presence in the team at every match nonetheless is of utmost importance and although the Catalans have refused to answer the question as to how they will fare once their captain hangs up his boot, unlike Real Madrid who already did that. Every coach to have overseen the affairs at the Camp Nou have had to rely on the influence of Messi for that extra magic for the past ten years.

Barca to Improve Performance in Forthcoming Matches

Messi’s team Barcelona has had a successful start this season. They have been able to navigate the group games of the Champions League so far. The result is that after finishing three games they gained seven points that have helped them go ahead of Inter Milan and retain top position.

However, experts state that the champions need to improve their performance if they wish to win the Champions League. The team had a draw against Borussia Dortmund and has made wins over teams like Slavia Prague and Inter Milan by margins of one goal. Many feel that the team could have delivered a better performance at the scoreline when they played against Slavia; this team is at the bottom of Group F. The match was hosted by Barca which should have boosted their chances of wins. A training session had also been arranged a day before where Messi and other players like Antoine Griezmann and Ansu Fati were sent. It helped the squad to prepare for the match and the venue was the Sports City venue of the club.

MARADONA: MESSI IS NO LEADER

Diego Maradona is one who is never afraid of throwing tantrums at players for their performances on and off the pitch. Argentine superstar Lionel Messi has been a major victim of his tantrums in recent years.
