The vice president of Barcelona Javier Faus said that he has no plans of signing Lionel Messi with a fresh contract even though Neymar and C.Ronaldo both earn more than the Argentinean wonder kid.
Messi’s current contract with Barcelona expires in 2018 and sees him earning 12.5 million euros each year meanwhile C.Ronaldo’s contract allows him to receive over 20 million euros per year.
Faus insisted by saying that there is no need to make any attempts on making yet another contract with Messi seeming to be rather unconfident about Neymar who joined Barcelona not too long ago and is already earning more than the player who has been the focal point of the team for years now.
The star player of Faus and Barcelona is currently making a recovery after going through thigh problems he has been suffering from in the past few months. It might be the main reason why the executive wants to wait for Messi to get back into the team and perform as his usual best before offering a new contract.
Faus said recently. “I do not know why we have to do it again .We do not have to improve a contract every six months.”
Manchester City was linked with a move involving Messi and considering his substantial buyout clause and the contract that runs up until 2018, there is little to no probabilities that the Premier League or any club at all will have any chance in signing him.
